About our program
Mosquito Range Heritage Initiative works alongside public land partners to undertake trail maintenance and trail improvement projects across the district. Our crew works to address negative environmental side effects such as drainage issues, erosion, and social trail creation using USFS aligned trail maintenance techniques along with supporting trailhead improvements, restoration projects, watershed protection, and more!
MRHI’s main stewardship partner is the USFS South Park Ranger District, working to maintain and improve district trails and trailheads. Our crews also work to support other partners such as Town of Alma, Mountain Area Land Trust, and are open to local partnership opportunities!

Join our crewEvery summer we hire a professional seasonal trail crew of 4-8 people to undertake projects including clearing downed trees, undertaking erosion control. Our crews work everywhere from the Alpine to Forest to Grasslands to protect sensitive habitats from erosion and user impacts.
