The planning area contains cultural, historic, recreation, and natural resources of statewide and national significance. For these very reasons it also is attractive as a place to live, work, and visit. We believe there is still time to coordinate and balance preservation and conservation with recreation and economic development so the natural integrity and heritage of the area are preserved for our future generations.
